Discover our complete range of boys’ wetsuits
If you want to buy a boys’ wetsuit online, it’s important to understand the differences between the various models and their specific uses. Is a boys’ wetsuit top enough, or do you need a boys’ full wetsuit? Long or short sleeves? How thick? Read on to find out.
- Wetsuit tops — Our boys’ wetsuit tops and jackets are made of 1.5mm neoprene. If you live somewhere warm, or your boy only goes to the beach in summer, they are the ideal purchase. A wetsuit top will keep him warm once he is wet and the wind picks up, especially if he likes to surf for hours on end or in the early morning or late afternoon.
- Wetsuit shorts — Boys’ wetsuit bottoms are made from 1mm neoprene and are perfect for providing lightweight insulation against the cold without being constricting. They also offer protective padding — perfect for board activities.
- Springsuits — Boys’ springsuits come in both long or short legs and arms. Their thickness can also vary between 0.5mm and 2mm. They provide warmth and comfort without restricting your boy’s freedom and are ideal for playing in the water and being active on the beach.
- Steamers — If the boy you are buying for is serious about surfing or likes to go in the water all year round, then you’ll want to look at a steamer. These boys’ full wetsuits come in 3/2 or 4/3 thicknesses, with the latter only being necessary when the water temperature dips below 15°C.
When choosing a boys’ wetsuit, you also need to decide between different entry systems. While back zip (BZ) wetsuits are easier to get in and out of, chest zip (CZ) and zip free (ZF) wetsuits keep the user warmer.
