Surfboard by Torq Surfboards

Performance minimal’s are one of the funnest, most versatile boards you can own. Great for first waves, perfect for gliding small clean waves and with the paddle and pick up for larger or junkier surf.

Usually a performance minimal comes at a cost; the size of the board means to make it lightweight they are inherently weak and lose their responsive feel quickly or simply break. With the Torq TEC construction you get a lightweight board with all the strength of a much heavier one and much more response

Our combination of carbon strips on the top and bottom make these boards super lively and surf a lot shorter than their length.

Tough Epoxy Composite

TEC Technology

Torq Epoxy Composite offers performance shapes in our vacuum epoxy layup. Vacuum epoxy uses a hand lay-up process, with a vacuum bonding process to bind the fiber to the board and remove excess resin. We have a few tricks in the vacuum process that keeps the resin content at a much better level than can usually be achieved.
The result is lightweight AND durable. The weight is similar to a PU but we have a lot more fiber and more layers to reinforce the rail.
The performance is very direct – TEC has an immediate response that is especially good in smaller or weaker waves. In larger waves the advantage is they are a lot less likely to break.
If you’re used to PU they feel quick at first. After a few surfs, your old PU will feel very slow!
